Site Launch: ANEWU Medical Spa

Posted by on December 3rd, 2018

hasOptimization is proud to announce the launch of a new site for Merrimack, NH medical spa ANEWU Medical Spa. ANEWU Medical Spa originally came to hasOptimization looking to improve their ad performance on Facebook and around the web. While we were glad to help, as we were assisting to prepare new advertising methods, we noticed that there was one big problem: ANEWU’s current site was lacking in a lot of elements that are critically necessary for success when it comes to advertising, especially on mobile platforms like Facebook. First and foremost, the site was not fully responsive, making it hard to navigate on mobile. There were issues where content would not load properly or at all, or even stretch out the screen, resulting in the dreaded horizontal scrolling on mobile. Information was cluttered and hard to decipher; the basic template of the page was not the most visually appealing, and resulted in pages that looked more like Wikipedia entries rather than service pages delivering the necessary information to potential customers for services. We always say… Advertising dollars spent sending someone to a hard-to-navigate, broken, ill-loading, or otherwise unclear page are advertising dollars wasted. Site owner Holly agreed, and we sped off to create a new site template that would not only function properly on all devices, but also help to optimize her site for potential and new clients, allowing them to find all of the information they needed quickly and easily. We conducted the following steps and then some to…

Site Launch: Tech Center Danvers

Posted by on July 23rd, 2018

hasOptimization is proud to announce the launch of another new site. Tech Center Danvers is a tech repair kiosk located in the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers, MA. They repair phones, computers, and even video game consoles! Yes, they’ll even repair iDevices including MacBooks and iMacs. hasOptimization acquired this client just as he was taking over the business from a previous owner. Wanting to make his business as ship-shape as possible, the new owner Kyle quickly set to work with optimizing his website, social media, and more. Tech Center Danvers’ site was previously a single-page site hosted on SquareSpace. While we love for business owners to get their hands dirty with DIY and create some sort of web presence for themselves, Tech Center Danvers’ site was not the greatest. It gave all of the information necessary to visitors, but all of the information was on a single page, which is detrimental to SEO. Along with hosting everything on one page, all of the content was placed as images rather than text, which means the only thing Google was indexing from the page was the single piece of text in the one-page navigation: “home”. Kyle had to make significant changes to the text within the images. Rather than modifying the existing SquareSpace site, Kyle said he was not married to SquareSpace and found it difficult to make changes properly, so we asked if he wanted to move over to WordPress. Kyle quickly agreed — he had seen a competitor’s website and very much…

Site Launch: Caroline’s Fine Food

Posted by on July 12th, 2018

hasOptimization is proud to announce the launch of a new site: Caroline’s Fine Food. This gourmet caterer has been a client with hasOptimization for some time, and this site re-design has long been in the making. Caroline’s Fine Food focuses on gourmet seasonally prepared food items, and even offers online ordering for same-day carryout items. Sounds delicious! Caroline’s Fine Food has been through several websites in a short span of time, none of which gave Caroline and her team the combination of appearance and functionality that they wanted and needed. While all builds looked good on the outside, there was missing or confusing functionality within the website. The owner was frustrated with the final version(s) of her website, and did not know what to do about it. Here at hasOptimization, we highly value our clients. We want them to succeed! We can make as many changes as possible to make a better site and usability better for visitors, but what it ultimately comes down to is what the business owner feels is best for their business. We took a bit of a gamble, and web designer/developer/many-hatted hasOptimization person Aimee created a quick redesign for Caroline based on her ideals, what kind of product she was selling, and how a restaurant and food-based website should run. We showed this quick redesign mockup to Caroline, and after browsing the site, she loved it. A few tweaks here and there, and we were able to salvage her site and ultimately bring it live! Need a…

Site Launch: Psychological Services Institute’s New Site

Posted by on June 4th, 2018

hasOptimization is proud to announce the launch of a new site for Dr. Essie Hull of Psychological Services Institute. This clinical psychologist is located in Concord, NH. Dr. Hull, who also runs The Essence of Things online store, came to us through The Essence of Things. She wanted to update her old HTML-only one page site to 2018 standards for web design and usability. While most customers come to us because they want to increase their business, search engine visibility, and generally make their site and information easier to access and digest, Dr. Hull had one simple goal in mind with revamping her website: a prettier site. Dr. Hull was not interested in ranking better on search engines, nor was interested in expanding her content to bring in more clients. Each client has their own goals, and we are happy to work within those parameters to complete a site they like and enjoy. The first thing we did was assess the old site. The biggest complaints on our end were the following: Brown on brown makes text hard to read Colors aren’t the most inviting Page is not responsive With these in mind, we brought forth some themes for Dr. Hull to consider. Because Dr. Hull is an organic gardener and likes taking photos in the garden, we decided to suggest the use of a visual theme to bring some freshness to the page. We updated the colors, fonts, and removed the background image (“noise”), while maintaining the same information,…

Site Launch: Greenblatt Law LLC’s New Website

Posted by on March 7th, 2018

hasOptimization is proud to announce the launch of a new site for Greenblatt Law, LLC, a family, matrimonial, and divorce attorney in New York City. This site was a very interesting ride. Our client, Elysa Greenblatt, was running a SquareSpace website. While we have no problem with clients making DIY websites, SquareSpace has some issues, especially in regards to SEO, site speed, and other problems. Blogging is not easy on SquareSpace, and Elysa wanted to start doing some blogging. Elysa had done an excellent job creating a slick, modern web presence for herself, however SquareSpace, with its known issues, also can be expensive. We noticed Elysa’s SquareSpace was up for renewal in only a couple of months, so we posed the question to her: do you want to continue with SquareSpace, or do you want to transfer out with some big benefits? Elysa asked if there was any way we could make a website nearly identical to what she had on SquareSpace. Since her website was fairly simple with very few pages and posts, we immediately said yes. She wanted us to make the website as close as possible to her old website. This is not the first time a client has asked us to go for the same look and feel on a website. However, she wanted it to be a lot more closely like her old page. So… we happy obliged! While we were working on her new page, she had also requested some changes that she couldn’t…

Site Launch: Break Free 603

Posted by on January 4th, 2018

Break Free 603 LLC is an escape room in Amherst, NH. The owner, Keith, did a fantastic job using MobiRise to create a nice starter website with necessary information. We call it a “starter” site, because as you know, in-browser website builders usually aren’t all that great. He did a good job of getting the information out on the web so people could find him and the escape room. With that being said, there were some issues. He wanted us to take over updating the website as he couldn’t commit to constantly updating the website. The problem with this was that with the MobiRise editor, any changes we made could have been easily overridden by him if he also made changes. That meant any website updates, SEO changes, code changes, or otherwise could be swept away easy if we’re not tightly in touch and sending files back and forth to one another. The good news about this was that we had a perfect solution — WordPress! Since WordPress is collaborative, we can create individual users for each person who wants to update the site. Changes are made to the site in real time, and edits are made from there. Changes to posts and pages can also be reverted with WordPress’ revisions system, and we can see which changes were made and by whom. These are just some of the reasons why we love WordPress, along with the easy-to-use website backend that makes editing a breeze even for the most non-tech…

Site Launch: EcoSource LLC

Posted by on December 15th, 2017

EcoSource LLC, who provides cleaning services to business of all sizes in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, became a hasOptimization client in the summer of 2017. When we take on new clients, we often “inherit” sites that can be plagued with problems. Most of the time, sites can easily be modified or “fixed” to bring them up to speed. With EcoSource, we inherited an older WordPress-based site. While it was great that it was WordPress, it hadn’t been updated in roughly five years. That meant it was running a very old version of WordPress. While many issues can sometimes be resolved by just upgrading WordPress, in this instance the page was utilizing a highly custom template that used a lot of plugins and specialty coding. This probably worked really well when the site was new, but a few years on without any updating, many essential items were broken or missing. Others were workarounds for features that have since been added to WordPress itself. Lastly, the site was lacking in now-essential features such as responsive pages for viewing on multiple devices. We suggested to the client that creating a light re-design from scratch would be the best way to tackle a lot of these issues. The client agreed, but wanted to maintain somewhat of the original design and feel, while upgrading the site. Can do! We utilized the same colors of the old EcoSource site, while pulling in old resources such as the background image, while upgrading other features and making even more…

Site Launch: Abington Aesthetic

Posted by on May 2nd, 2017

The team at hasOptimization is proud to present to you our latest website overhaul. Abington Aesthetic Laser and Medical Center is a client out of Philadelphia, PA specializing in non-invasive cosmetic laser surgery including hair removal, tattoo removal, and more. With a lot to offer, Abington Aesthetic had a site that needed some major updates to showcase their current range of services to clients and potential customers. Abington Aesthetic’s old site was a basic HTML website. It was billed as being a bit too “grey” by the client. Back when it was originally built, it may have been a sleek and nice looking website, but in 2017, it was lacking. Without a responsive mobile theme, it was hard to read on small screen devices, and it lacked updates. With colossal drop down lists in the menu, it was hard to navigate. It also had an issue with consistency between pages; some newer pages read like a cheap newspaper ad, while the blog was a completely different look altogether, which could throw off immersion for visitors. Here’s how we overcame these issues: we started with a basic site map to figure out what we wanted to go where and how people would be searching for Abington Aesthetic’s services. We developed new pages with expanded content to give potential clients an informed choice as to what Abington Aesthetic offered and combined old pages that were lacking in content. Then, we developed based on the client’s aesthetic choices, a responsive and classy new…
